Tuesday, November 5, 2024, S.K.A.T.S. met at the Logan County Search & Rescue Building for our monthly meeting. The meeting recapped some old business & brought up new topics as well. Lorraine (W4XXA) mentioned the grant applied for and noted we should have a definite response no later than December.
Regarding the trash pickup that was performed by several volunteers in the club, Logan County Fiscal Court is scheduled to approve the release of funds with Waste Management this month.
The Technician License Course for October was completed as of November 5th, and we are looking at the potential for holding another course February or March of 2025.
Rodney Harkleroad (KQ4VZN) attended the meeting this month as well. He is the director of Logan County Emergency Management. Interest was sparked in beginning a local weather net in hopes of helping the local emergency management report damages with intent to pinpoint needed assistance. More details will be reported as they become official, including volunteers needed, frequency, time, etc.

December’s meeting with be our “Eating Meeting” in celebration of the upcoming holidays. This meeting will be held on December 3rd at 6pm. This is a potluck style meeting. If you come, bring a dish, drink, or dessert! We are looking forward to spending time with members and folks who may be interested in becoming members!
Looking into the upcoming year, Winter Field Day is happening soon & we have been welcomed by Search & Rescue to utilize their facilities. Dates will be posted soon!
